Maui Wowi Reg. Director Nicole Hoffman on Franchise Support
Helping Franchisees Thrive from Day One
At Maui Wowi, strong franchise support is central to how we operate and how our franchisees thrive. From the first conversation to long after launch, our team works closely with owners to provide the guidance, tools, and encouragement they need to grow their mobile smoothie businesses with confidence. Nicole Hoffman, Regional Director of Operations for Maui Wowi, plays a key role in making that support possible.
With years of experience in food service, retail, and real estate, she helps new and existing franchisees navigate everything from onboarding and training to operations. Her insights offer a clear look at what makes Maui Wowi such a compelling franchise opportunity.
Q: Describe Maui Wowi’s franchise operations.
Nicole: Maui Wowi has a relatively simple operation and the setup is fairly minimal. With a cart or food truck, the overhead is low and the ease of operation is there. You’ve got a pre-made recipe, and you don’t need a lot of employees. It could be just yourself or one or two team members, depending on the event. It’s a pretty easy business to run.
Q: When does your role begin in the franchise process?
Nicole: I’m involved almost right from the start. When a franchisee reaches out to Kahala Brands to express interest in a franchise, the franchise development team will reach out to us to find events that are available in that prospect’s area. That way, they can go visit a Maui Wowi at an event, see if they like the concept, see if they like the smoothies, and just kind of get a general idea of what that might look like for them.

Q: After someone visits an event and wants to move forward, what happens?
Nicole: They work a lot with our franchise development and sales teams. They’ll go through the entire disclosure process and franchise agreement. Once they’ve signed their franchise agreement, then we begin training and set them up with their accounts, distributor, and product knowledge.
Q: How would you describe the brand’s commitment to helping franchisees thrive?
Nicole: We’re very committed to our franchisees’ success. We work really hard to support them in every avenue. We have our marketing team, our purchasing and distribution teams, real estate, franchise development, legal, customer service, operations—we are here to always answer questions and assist when we need to. If there’s an issue in distribution, we try to jump in right away and make sure that we can get product to our franchisees, because without product, you can’t run your business.
