5 Benefits of the Mainland Training Program
As a new franchisee, it’s like the first day of school. There is fear of the unknown and excitement for the possibilities. During our week long hands-on training, the nerves are put to rest as the Maui Wowi support team guides them through every step of the process. It is our goal to provide franchisees with the tools they need to be as successful as they want to be. Here are five benefits of Mainland Training.
Immersion: Flying to Denver, Colorado and walking through the door of the Maui Wowi offices, franchisees are immediately greeted with a warm Aloha and surrounded by the Aloha Spirit. We live and breathe the Maui Wowi Hawaiian culture and you can feel it the minute you arrive. Leave the past behind as you begin a new journey as a franchise business owner and enjoy the ride.
The Founder, the Legend, How it all Began: Jeff and Jill Summerhays started Maui Wowi in 1982 and continue to be involved in the ‘ohana to this day. At Mainland Training, franchisees meet personally with Jill and learn how Maui Wowi got its start. She shares the rich history of the company and tricks of the trade that are best heard from the founder herself.
Behind the Scenes: At training, franchisees have the opportunity to get to know and understand how each member of the team functions to successfully run a smooth sailing franchise system. A highlight of training is a visit to our coffee roaster to learn exactly where the beans come from and what makes them some of the most sought after coffees in the world.
Get your hands dirty: Maui Wowi has a very hands on Mainland Training. You will arrive at training having completed our online courses called Aloha U so when you get to Denver you are ready to work hard and play hard. At training, franchisees put down the books and get hands-on experience setting up for a real event, blending smoothies, and seeing the smiles on customer’s faces. It’s the real deal and the best way to learn is by doing.
‘Ohana: Becoming a Maui Wowi franchisee means more than just becoming a business owner; you become a part of the ‘ohana (family). Throughout the week, franchisees get to know the team that is there to support them. Not only do they bond with the Mainland Staff but they bond with each other. Each class of new franchisees are forever united. A rarity in the business world, the Maui Wowi franchise system truly is one big ‘ohana and we’re all in this adventure together!
