At Maui Wowi®, part of the fun is interacting with our customers. One of the ways we help our franchisees grow their business through personalized service is with our catering add-on. It’s a low-cost unit ($1,500 – refer to FDD for details) that’s similar to the K-Cart but nearly half the size. See the size difference for yourself below:
And trust us, our customers love Maui Wowi® catering. No exaggeration required.
Mitchell York, one our franchisees, provides Maui Wowi® catering to more than 150 colleges during student events. He was even recognized by Multi-Unit Franchising Magazine for the way he innovated his Maui Wowi® business through catering. In an interview with Multi-Unit Franchising Magazine, York says his sales grow 15 percent every year. Another one of our franchisees does 120 graduation parties in two months (and she lives in Minnesota).
Benefits of Getting the Catering Add-On
By adding a catering unit to your Maui Wowi® business, you’re able to benefit from an additional revenue stream at a very low cost. Since the catering unit is much smaller than our proprietary (and beloved) K-Cart, you’re also able to easily transport the unit to any private event – it breaks down into three easy-to-transport bags you can throw in the trunk of your car.
You’re also able to really showcase our premium products in a way that you couldn’t at a typical event or venue. Since you’ll be working with a small crowd between 50 and 200 people, you’re able to really interact with your guests and give them the full Hawaiian experience, complete with Aloha Spirit, themed music and everything. Guests can even supply their own alcohol to add to their smoothies, event permitting.
Guests at the party are typically impressed by our unforgettable Tiki-style stand. This really helps expand brand awareness for your Maui Wowi® business through word-of-mouth referrals within your community.
How Catering With Maui Wowi® Works
Instead of selling our gourmet smoothies and Hawaiian coffees per cup, you sell your services by the hour. Every franchisee is able to set the price for their catering services. And if it’s your first time doing a catered event, we have suggested pricing for different sized parties, including how many employees to hire and how much to charge for a travel fee.
Although many catering leads come through word-of-mouth referrals, our main website generates several leads that get sent to all Maui Wowi® franchisees. We also provide franchisees with editable marketing materials – including flyers, postcards and digital ads – you can use to promote catering services during your events.
Over the years, we’ve seen our catering services grow more and more. That’s why your friends at Maui Wowi® corporate are dedicating a PPC campaign to increasing catering leads for our franchisees.
If you’re already a Maui Wowi® franchisee, you know we think owning a business should be fun, flexible and mobile. There are so many benefits of our mobile business model. Catering is just another way we get to give our franchisees the life they want – one with laid-back Hawaiian style.
The franchisee we mentioned earlier, Mitchell York, says he never imagined he’d own a business, let alone wear Hawaiian shirts while he did it. But Maui Wowi® changed his life for the better, so much so he wrote a book about it. If you’ve got time, see his story below:
Until next time, Aloha!
