Being a part of an ‘ohana, our franchisees understand the importance of community and giving back. Whether it’s through No-Work FUNdraising, Team Karma, or simply helping out a fellow franchisee, we are about spreading the Aloha Spirit one sip at a time.
A prime example of this is franchisee Jordan Lovato who owns a location in Highland, California and recently celebrated her store’s one year anniversary. Jordan is highly involved in her community and is a member of the Highland Chamber of Commerce.
Once a year, the Chamber selects nominees to be awarded the Top Business of the Year in recognition of their community contributions. This year, Jordan was nominated for the award along with two other local business owners.
She was invited to a special luncheon that was attended by State Senator Mike Morrell and 19 local chamber communities. Jordan’s sons also accompanied her to the event.
“Although I did not win, it was a huge honor to be nominated out of all the businesses in Highland,” said Jordan.
Jordan received two certificates that day, one from the California Legislature Assembly and one from the State of California Senate.
Jordan says she is committed to helping her community regardless of any recognition it brings. Her humble acceptance of the nomination reveals that she does this because she wants to.
“I think having people see that I’m always giving back to the community that supports me does help my business, but by no means do I do it to get customers,” she said. “I do it for the community I love.”
Currently, she is helping a 9-year-old girl host a toy drive. The girl is asking for donations of unwrapped gifts to give to the children in the local foster system.
